A Little Bit About Me…

I am a recent graduate from The University of Scranton where I majored in strategic communications on the public relations track. I also minored in general business and took classes such as marketing, finance, financial accounting and management. I am a motivated and goal-oriented woman with a positive and enthusiastic personality who also loves to be challenged.

Lacrosse

During my time at Scranton, I participated in numerous extracurricular activities where I grew as a person and as a leader. I was a member of the Women’s Lacrosse Team where I served as a captain for two years and contributed to the team on and off the field. I acquired various major awards such as 2017 Landmark Conference Player of the Year, Landmark Conference All-Decade Team, leading scorer for the past four seasons, and 2016/2017 IWLCA All-Boardwalk Region First Team along with minor ones as well. These accolades earned me a nomination for the Women’s Lacrosse World Cup Festival USA D3 Elite Team, where I played in Surrey, England, in July 2017. Playing lacrosse allowed me to use time management in my everyday life balancing between academics and athletics.

International Service Trips

During my freshman and sophomore years, I embarked on two international service trips to Nicaragua (2013) and El Salvador (2014). As a peer facilitator for the trip to El Salvador I created eight meetings throughout the school year and led a group of 14 students and two faculty mentors to San Salvador for a week.

Studying Abroad

Galway, Ireland, was my home for the fall semester of my junior year as I studied abroad and took five classes at The National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG).

Clubs/Organizations on Campus

In 2016, I was a leader for the FIRST program, which acclimates 40 incoming freshman to campus and our retreat center while we do service work around the Scranton area throughout the week. A few months later I was asked to lead the Search retreat, where I led small group discussions and allowed students to be comfortable in a vulnerable setting. I represented the student body in a number of focus groups and took part of several clubs such as Make-A-Wish Foundation and Love Your Melon.

Internships, Fundraisers and Awards

I worked as an intern for Ben Franklin Technology Partners and Scranton Tomorrow where I received tons of experience with social media, business plans, ad campaigns and other events associated with economic development and non-profit organizations. In high school and in college I helped organize a fundraiser for the One Love Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to a women’s lacrosse player named Yeardley Love who was killed by her boyfriend in 2010. My elementary school also gave me the honor of being their commencement speaker at their graduation in 2016.

One day in the future I would love to open up my own non-profit organization or my own business in general. Scranton provided me with all the stepping stones I need to begin my journey and I’m excited to watch it all unfold!
